9 SPRING HAIR TIPS FOR NATURALS

The warm temperature can really do a number on our hair. With that said, here are 9 tips to keep your natural hair looking and feeling healthy this spring.

SHAMPOO - Shampoo less, but if you must, use a sulfate-free shampoo.

CO-WASHING-Instead of using shampoo, try washing your hair with a conditioner instead. This cleans your hair, but helps you retain moisture without stripping natural oils from your hair.

DEEP CONDITIONING- Deep conditioners are full of proteins, which increases strength. So deep conditioning your hair weekly using a good moisturizing conditioner will prevent or bring your hair back from feeling dull and dry .

LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER- Leave in conditioners for natural hair are water based, and for naturals water is our best friend. It locks in moisture and keep our hair feeling and looking healthy.

TRIM- Holding on to split ends won't work, It won't help with hair growth or healthy hair. Try trimming every 3 months and try not to trim more than half and inch.

SEAL ENDS- Try using coconut oil or castor oil to seal those ends, that way you don't end up with split ends.

GREASE- Never use grease, because it is made from petroleum, which makes your hair greasy, dry,  and dull. Instead try using Jojoba, castor, olive, or coconut oil, because they are natural oils they help with the extra moisture that our hair needs.

AVOID HEAT- Style hair with out using curling irons or blow dryers, that way your hair won't weaken and break off.

WEAR PROTECTIVE STYLES- Avoid constantly combing and brushing of your hair everyday. Instead try wearing braids (but not too tight) loose buns, twist or other styles of your choice.
